Millers Falls No 9 Smooth Plane Type 2 1936-41 Restored and Tuned. Ok this one was crusty when it showed up at my shop. Someone has painted it orange. And not that nice Stanley Cheetos orange; marking paint orange. Maybe someone had it in their toolbox and a can of marking paint exploded. Who knows. It’s been restored. 100% new black and red finish. No breaks cracks chips or repairs to the body or frog. The mouth is good no chips, cracks or alterations. Rosewood tote and knob are fre...e of cracks or repairs, both have been re-lacquered and then hand polished for a silky smooth feel. Both have a few tool box dings. The wonderful Millers Falls three piece lever cap and the chip breaker have been lapped at their contact points with the iron to ensure a firm seat and reduce chatter. The iron has been lapped flat on the back and then honed with a 10, 000 grit Ohishi Water Stone, Scary Sharp and makes see through shavings with a finish as smooth as glass. The frog has been checked for rocking and sits square and firm on the body. The frog adjustment tab and screw have been re-blued just as it would have left the factory. All screws have been lightly oiled and move freely.If you have any questions feel free to ask!
