ANTIQUE STANLEY NO 45 S COMBINATION PLOW PLANE WITH BLADE - EARLY & VERY NICE!
For your consideration is a early well-kept Stanley 45 S Combination Plow Plane with a great nickel-plated finish. The main stock is clean and cast with a "No 45". This plane has a beautiful rosewood knob and tote in excellent condition, and comes with 1 very nice (and sharp) groove cutter (see photo 5). Left fence has a rosewood facing, again in excellent condition. The outside of the left fence is c...ast with a "45" and "S" (see photo 8). There is a chip to the collar holding the arm set screws, but does not affect its operation (see photo 11). The beading gauge is cast with both a "45" and "S" and of course, "STANLEY". The outside of the main stock is stamped with "STANLEY RULE & LEVEL CO - PAT MCH 11.84 JAN 22.95" (see photo 12). This is a beautiful plane with plenty of ornate filigree throughout. A beautiful period piece. A wonderful additional to any Stanley collection. Please study photos as they are the best representation of the plane's actual condition.
