This is an original antique (late 19th century) 2 gallon Red Wing stoneware crock with salt glaze on the outside, Albany slip glaze on the inside, and bold cobalt "double P" marking on the front. Condition is excellent; there is one faint crow's foot on the front that does not go through to the inside of the crock and a couple tiny, faint hairlines on the side (one that does down to the bottom edge and appears to go through, just at the bottom edge). The brown Albany Slip glaze on the ...inside has some rings of chalky residue on the inside from use (these are difficult to remove). The crock measures 9 1/2" H x 10" in diameter and will be packed securely, double boxed, and fully insured during shipping.
