The painting looks to have been restored with wax onto a newer canvas backing some years ago for stability and repairs. There are several small ...spots of paint loss and scuffs to the finish of minor concern. Overall a phenomenal large-sized 18th century portrait painting housed in an early just so decorated wooden frame with a fair amount of loss to the gesso around the edges.
