This is such a gorgeous French needlepoint. 1930's era. Hand-stitched in wool yarns onto a cotton canvas. Many of the motifs were worked in a petit point for lovely detail. The background stitching shade is a warm shade of brown. Total canvas size is 28.5" x 22" and the stitched area is 20" x 13.75". This was created from a Trammed canvas (with horizontal pre-stitching that gets worked over in further needlepoint). There is a portion in the upper left quadrant that didn't get the tramm...ing stitched over (SEE 5th & 10th PHOTOS FOR THIS). The original yarn used with this needlepoint is still in great shape (and there's quite a bit of it), so I'll send it with the canvas in the event that the buyer wishes to fill over this area. I personally would just frame the needlepoint as-is without finishing this area, but that's just me (I enjoy the personality of certain needleworks that have areas undone because I like to see the juxtaposition of the work). The needlepoint is clean with no stains or fading. There is a small area near some florals that has a few missed stitches (SEE LAST PHOTO). NOTE: This item is available for U.S. shipment only.
