This is an original, old, vintage, 1860s era, CDV (carte de visite) of Civil War Major Robert Anderson who was the Union commander in the first battle of the American Civil War at Fort Sumter in April 1861. The photograph is in very nice condition but it has been slightly trimmed on the bottom and trimmed slightly curved on the top. This was probably to fit in to a photo album? The back has no photographer's stamp. A really great, historical CDV. This is not a reproduction or reprint b...ut an original 1860s era CDV.
