Condition: In very good Pre-owned ...and Displayed condition -- no break, no chip, no damage, no repair; minimal scratches consistent with well-kept vintage stone carving. It has minor natural stone cracks or stone veins. It may also have small stone irregularities which look like dents or chips. This carving was cleaned and polished not long ago. Please check all the pictures for condition details.
Maudie Okittuq's artworks are in the collections of National Gallery of Canada, Art Gallery of Ontario, Winnipeg Art Gallery, Canadian Museum of History, Inuit Cultural Institute, among others. Her carvings are sold at various auctions and art galleries.
The themes of many of Maudie’s carvings are supernatural spirits, deities and creatures. She enjoys working in whalebone and stone. Maudie’s husband, James Okittuq, is also a carver in Spence Bay.
