Original Description:
For sale is a rare Eskimo gut basket collected circa 1900 by thegrandfather of the estate where the basket was purchased about25 years ago. The six strips are carefully hand-stitched togetherand decorated with red and green silk and down feathers. A cottonball acts as a knob on the cover.

The basket is 4 1/2" tall and 4 1/2" to 5" in diameter. It weighs only
.2 ounces or 8 grams. Condition is very good : there are small holes in the material but silk colors are bright as ne...w.
