Offered is a truly stunning Northwest Coast Makah Nootka Basket, Native American/ First Nation Miniature #3This one is beautiful with vibrant colors and very detailed, well-woven whales. Look at pictures to appreciate the uniqueness and beauty of the weaving. It's a hard one to let go.It came from a collection of Makah Nootka baskets from both Canada and the US. Some had maker's names, some didn't. I think this may be Canadian based on the use of bear grass rather than cedar for ...the bottom start and the style is slightly different than some of the American Makah Baskets I've collected.It measures 2 1/2" by 1 3/4". Excellent condition. You can see some pinholes around the lid, but these appear to be "as made."
