26 " Native Amer. Plains Indians Skull Cracker War Club Hide Wrapped Stone/shaft

The wooden shaft is covered with rawhide and stitched together with sinew. The hide wrapped stone measures approximately 2 1/2" x 3 1/2". There is a 1 1/4" section of black beads. The wrist strap is leather as well. I do not know the age of this weapon nor who crafted it.
This is from my Aunt'sestate. She collected hundreds of Native American artifacts and arts andcrafts. She was mostly ...collecting during the 1990s, so all of the pieces are from the 90s andolder. She visited many reservations, pueblos, pow wows and trading posts andbought from or ordered from Native artists.
