Applegate-Fairbairn Knife SetApplegate-Fairbairn Special Commemorative Knife Set. Limited Edition - 1997, numbered 2521 of 3, 000. A set of two knives....a Gerber Combat Folder and a Boker fighting knife on a walnut plaque. The Boker is about 11" overall, the Gerber combat folder is about 10" opened. Knives can be removed from plaque. Set was not issued with sheaths.Includes the Certificate of Authenticity signed by Col. Rex Applegate, Jim Wehrs (General Manager of Gerber Leg...endary Blades) and Ernst Felix (President of Boker Solingen), a 8" x 10" photograph of Col. Rex Applegate actually signed by him and ready for framing. This collectable set also includes a 48-page book "Col. Applegate and His Knives", which gives the history of the Applegate-Fairbairn knives, plus 6 pages of historic photographs from his collection and fighting techniques.The set is mint, new-in-the-box with all original papers, content and packing material. Made in 1997 when Applegate was still alive. Rex died in 1998 at the age of 84.
