Vintage International Collectors Library edition of “Lady Chatterly’s Lover” by D.H. Lawrence. It features a leatherette jade green Louis XVI replica binding with gold embellishments on front and spine, a sewn-in satin bookmark, and pastel green end-pages. The pages are deckle edged (rough cut). No publication date listed. The International Collectors Library was a book club series published by Doubleday Book & Music Clubs, Inc. from the late 1940’s through the late 1980’...s. First published privately in 1928 in Italy, the "Lady Chatterly’s Lover” was banned in the U.S. until 1959 and until 1960 in the U.K.
The book is in good condition. There is light shelf wear with minor bumping on the corners and some chipping at the base of the spine. There is light staining (from the glue used) in the gutter of the rear paste down. The ribbon marker shows some fading. The pages are clean.
