Made by the McCoy Pottery, in the 1940s-1950s, the full inscription on this bank reads "John Howard 1726-1790 Famed Humanitarian" and on the back "The Howard Savings Institution Chartered 1857 New Jersey." He's a tall, handsome fellow with a lovely soft green glaze. Someone has attached a cork pad to the base using a mucilage glue and gotten a little glue on the side of the base in the process.
