**Highly Collectable / Beautiful Condition**
I am delighted to offer for sale a stunning 1st edition / 13th printing of the first book from Andrew Langs Fairy series ' The Blue Fairy Book. Published in 1909 by Longmans, Green & Co this is a beautiful book and one of the better examples i've handled. These book...s are highly desirable so to find one that has survived so well for 110 years is quite something. A real treat for someone out there and a fabulous addition to any collection.
About this Item: The Blue Fairy Book, Andrew Lang : London 1909. This is the UK 1st edition / later printing with the date of 1909 clearly to the main title page. A stunning example with the gorgeous decorative cloth covers. Extremely bright gilt to the covers, spine and entire outer text block which has not faded at all so is as good as when published. The covers are firm, tight and square showing minimal signs of any age with just the minutest bump to the odd corner and a touch of sunning to the spine cloth. A very clean and handsome example. Internally the book is again super with no inscriptions or graffiti. All original with fabulous plates & b/w illustrations throughout. Plain endpapers which remain inscription free with some mild foxing consistent with age. All hinges and margins tight and firm and all pages sit perfectly ie no waviness to the outer block. My photos do not do the book justice and this is certainly one of the best examples i've come across. A real beauty.
