Very rare and original ca1900 Hand Painted Occupational Shaving Mug belonging to a Baker featuring the interior of a bakery.
This beautiful, Hand Painted, Porcelain Occupational Shaving Mug measures approx. 3 1/2" tall and 3 1/2” in diameter at the rim and base. The Mug features a central Image of a Baker removing loaves of bread from a brick oven. Below the opening of the oven is a shelf filled with bread loaves cooling. Below the Image there appears the n...ame of the original owner – "I. Bruckner” - in gold gilt, Gothic letters. There are also gold gilt flourishes and thin gold gilt borders at the base and the lip of the Mug.
The decoration on this Shaving Mug is very attractive and the colors are bright and vibrant. The Mug carries the mark of the manufacturer - T & V Limoges (Tressemanes & Vogt, Limoges, France).
PLEASE NOTE: This Shaving Mug is unconditionally guaranteed to be an original ca1900 Hand Painted Baker’s Shaving Mug and is NOT a reproduction, reissue or of modern manufacture but an original Mug manufactured and decorated around the turn of the 20th century!!
This rare and original, Baker’s Occupational Shaving Mug is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, physical damage or repairs of any kind. The ground porcelain is generally a brilliant white color as manufactured with no staining or discoloration. The Hand Painted Decoration is crisp and clean with no significant scratches, scuffs, discoloration or surface wear. The gold gilt lettering, flourishes and borders are worn.
