Navy full cloth boards, blind-stamped cover title design, crisp gilt spine titles, light shelf wear, some discoloration to boards. Pages generally very good, clean; no writing. Some fox at back blank endpapers, moderate inside front cov...er. Bind fine, square; hinges intact. Original jacket some chip, rub, missing material at front panel; protected in fine clear sleeve. Classic red and yellow striped jacket design w/thirteenth printing stated on spine, front flap. Very attractive. Scarce tangible in near very good condition in solid, intact original wrapper.
In 1938, after about 100 alcoholics in Akron and New York had become sober, the fellowship decided to promote its program of recovery through the publication of a book, for which Bill Wilson (Bill W.) was chosen as primary author. The book was given the title Alcoholics Anonymous and included the list of suggested activities for spiritual growth known as the Twelve Steps. The movement itself took on the name of the book. The Big Book has served as a lifeline to millions worldwide. First published in 1939, Alcoholics Anonymous sets forth cornerstone concepts of recovery from alcoholism and tells the stories of men and women who have overcome the dis-ease. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" Tall. 400 pages.
