Original issue M-1 Helmet liner for the US military paratroopers. This helmet liner comes with the cotton chinstrap but does NOT include the leather sweatband. They are in NOS condition with only very minor rubs and abrasions from wear against each other in the original 1986 dated carton.

Note: It's not unusual for late production liner/shell combos to be ill-fitting. It's to do with a change of tolerances in the manufacturing process which was ne...ver satisfactorily resolved. You'll find it to be an even more "difficult" fit once you add the camo cover because the thickness of the fabric sandwiched between the liner and the shell will make it even snugger! So, don't worry too much about the liner showing beneath the rim...it's common place to have the liner sticking out some.
