Antique 1906 San Francisco Brass Bed

I bought this bed in 1985 and was told that it had been in one family since it was purchased new right after the Great San Francisco Earthquake of 1906. It is a heavy bed that has a cast iron core and is clad with very thick brass. These beds were designed to take a goose down mattress that was slightly smaller than a full sized bed. I modified this one to accommodate a queen sized mattress and box springs. This item is too heavy to ship so I have opted for a pickup only option.
