This is an exact compatible replacement for all of your vintage Acoustic Research speakers.
No modifications needed, and these are the same type of control that your speakers originally came with, So that means your sound in crossover points will not change from the original design.
While others are using L pads, L pads differ from the original design. These do not differ from the original design.
As preventative maintenance, I pre-treat these controls with an electrical con...tact cleaner/silicone lubricant spray to ensure many many years of trouble free operation. Your controls will be pre-treated before I ship.
I successfully use these in many of my AR speaker restorations with spectacular results.
These have metal threaded lugs which accept ring terminals, or take to soldering very well, which I prefer, just like the originals were installed.
