16mm western from 1949, "The Dalton Gang".
This is a pretty rare filmstrip, one you never see listed for sale. A 2-reeler as they say, meaning it's on 2 large 12-1/2" metal reels. To be 70 years old, it plays well if you have a good projector. It's in black and white, has good sound, and has a leader with the actor's names. If we remember correctly, it stars Don Barry and Julie Adams among others. Directed by Ford Beebe. Very slight if any smell at all to the film, which is also rar...e. If you collect these old films, or buy them to show on your projector, this would fit right in. The metal cases or cannisters are worn and with imperfections as you'd expect, but solid. One cannister has an old label attached. The reels the film are on are also solid, with one looking practically new and the other with markings and age wear (see the photos). Do not expect these old films to have the quality of new DVDs.
These big films are heavy, weighing around 5 pounds each, and as you know the post office uses weight to determine the postage you pay.
