The Siemens 12AX7 is a very nice tube with the coveted "European sound". It has a combination of clarity, lean tight bass, & very sweet extended treble that is never harsh and slight warmth in the mids. It sounds sort of like a cross-between a Telefunken & Amperex. It has a refined and 'elegant' tone. Excellent string-to-string definition. Overdrive is clear and detailed with great treble 'push' and definition, and lots of harmonic saturation!
