Antique Vintage Silver Southern Pacific Railroad #65 Hat Badge. Button protruding on backside unscrews to that the silver peg can stick through a hat, then screw the button back to secure. The button is inscribed "PATRICK & MK SAN FRANCISCO". Use closeup to see in second photo. Black number 65 and Southern Pacific on the front side of oval badge.Was most likely worn on the hat of a railroad employee who served on passenger trains. The number 65 identified the employee. The Southern... Pacific Railroad ran throughout the southwest United States, opening in 1865 and operating until 1996, when it was taken over by the Union Pacific Railroad.
