Vintage Jean Patou Paris Colony Perfume Parfum Bottle w/ Ground Glass Etched Stopper
Up for bid and for your consideration is a Vintage Jean Patou Paris, Colony, Perfume, bottle with a ground glass stopper/dauber and etched top.
This beautiful little bottle would be a great addition to your perfume collection or a finishing touch to your dressing table!
Here are the details:
The bottle is a about 3-1/8 inches tall to the top of the stopper, about 1-5/16 inch...es wide at the base and about 11/16 inches deep, also at the base. There is no volume amount printed anywhere, but I would assume this bottle holds only a few ounces of perfume.
It has a round silver colored foil label that is embossed with black writing: Colony Jean Patou Paris. The black printing shows some wear.
The back of the label has the number "5063" either blind embossed or very lightly printed on it. I don't know if the number means anything.
The ground glass stopper is stuck in the bottle. It looks like there may be dried on perfume that got trapped there and is causing the stopper to stick. I am not going to free it because whenever I try to fix something like this, I always break something. So I will leave it to he next owner to loosen it! The glass dauber is still intact inside the bottle. The top of the stopper is beautifully engraved with the JP logo. The edges of the top of the stopper are also nicely beveled.
The bottom of the bottle is embossed: Jean Patou Made in France.
There is still a little bit of perfume left in the bottle, about 1/4 of an inch. The perfume that is present is darker than other "Colony" perfume I have seen on eBay. Maybe it has evaporated and concentrated? I don't know!
The bottle is in nice condition with no chips cracks or breaks.
