for sale is a very wonderful and ornately carved very large and gorgeous antique quartersawn oak halltree. the piece is in mint condition and has great quartersawn oak in it's construction. it has the original hooks and as you can see from the photos great carvings above the seat, around the mirror, at the top, with a wonderful crest. this is a very large example being 48 inches wide, 85 inches tall, over 7 feet, and 17 inches deep. it has a lift lid and will ac...commodate a great deal of storage. it is a two piece affair. the portion which includes the mirror and top can be removed by removing several screws which anchor it in a great manner to the lower portion. it is very sturdy and without any damage as far as I can ascertain. as you can tell the carvings are outstanding and without defect. the crest is most wonderful. I saw one just like this one on ebay like a month ago priced at 6500.00 . I paid that much or more many years ago. I do not know if that one sold or not. at any rate, I am getting beyond my allotment in years and am pretty feeble and need to dispose of many things, 500 furniture pieces and several thousand pieces of porcelain, lamps. bronze pieces and many unusual one of a kind items. in fact, I thought this hall tree was the only one like until I saw the one on ebay awhile back. I live in a 20 room Victorian home stuffed full plus several storage houses and buildings. I think I have like 14 hall trees in my house. I will be adding them along when I find the energy to do so. I have another spectacular hall tree the same size I may try to list before long. at any rate, I am starting this item at 5500.00 which is a good bit less than I have in it. it may be pickey up at my home in salem, mo. or shipped at the buy ers expense. thanks for looking. good luck
