1973 Kentucky Derby was won by Secretariat who later went on to win the Preakness and Belmont Stakes which is known as the Triple Crown. The Triple Crown is a title awarded to a three year old Thoroughbred horse who wins these 3 races. The three races were inaugurated in different years, the last being the Kentucky Derby in 1875. Only 12 Horses have ev...en won the Triple Crown.
