Mercury 1000 Tube Tester Mutual Conductance, condition is used. This tester is in pretty good shape for its age, I have replaced all the paper and electrolytic capacitors and all the resistors that were out of the 10% tolerance range. I have installed all new calibration adjustment potentiometers. The originals were acting up and were cheap ones to begin with. All the potentiometers are adjustable from the front of the tester, so you don't have to take the tester out of its case. Four ...of the pots are adjustable through the top row of tube sockets (sockets 1-4). A small screwdriver is used through the guide pin hole of these sockets. The fifth pot, which is the DC bias control, I have placed on the front panel just above the Load control. This makes calibration of the tester super easy. The more expensive B&K tube testers have the same feature, where you can do the calibration adjustment through the larger tube sockets. That is where I got the idea for this. You can see in one of the photos that I have labeled the location of the pots. I also included photos of several popular tubes being tested. (6V6, 12au7, 25L6 etc.). The tester works well and the readings come close to my Hickok tester. Once the Post Office gets done with the shipping, you may want to do a quick calibration on it. You can find the calibration instructions on the Pacific TV website. They don't have the calibration instructions for the Mercury 1000 but they do have the instructions for the Mercury 2000 and these work fine for the 1000. The connector for TV picture tube yokes has been removed from this tester. The meter lens has some scratches and smudges but is still nicely readable. The covering of the case has a few small tears and there is some light rust on the hardware. Sale includes the original instruction manual and a tube chart book dated 1970. The books have some staining and yellowing but are still easily readable. The tubes seen in the photos are not included with the sale. I ship only to the USA lower 48 states!
