WWII Navy SeaBees Hand - Painted Wooden Travel Trunk, Footlocker; 125th Battalion

It was owned by a sailor named Albert W. Pendell, who was a native of Lansing, Michigan. He was in the 125th Construction Battalion, Company C. He passed away in 1989.
On the top of the box, it says "125th 'SeaBees' A.W. Pendell'". On the inside, he hand-painted a beautiful landscape scene.
The box is made out of wood and has steel around the ...edges. It measures 19 by 14 by 9 inches. The latch is broken.
