For sale tonight is an unusual and rare Cunard sauce gravy dish. The markings are sort of odd because you have Birmingham clearly marked but the manufacturer is a little mangled on the bottom. It’s also silver plated which I find unusual because usually the ocean liner silver pieces are nickel silver. The logo is the old Cunard logo but I’m not exactly sure of the date of manufacture.You expect to see a makers Mark from Gladwyne or Elkington or Chester but I can’t figure out whic...h one this is. This is definitely the era of White Star Line and early Cunard line pre-1914It’s approximately 9x4x2 1/2 at it’s widest pointsThere are some things and dents you would expect with a piece that’s over 100 years old. Plating is good but there are a couple of wear marks on the side ( The opposite side bearing the Cunard logo) and the front side under the spout.Approximately 4x5 inches. See photos.
