WW2 British Medal Grouping / Military Medical Surgeon / Insignia, Patches, Tools
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:180612 |
Items include marked surgeon tools, including scissors, scalpels and forceps. Tools have several manufacturer’s names, including Weiss, Down Bros. and D. Rose. Virtually all are British military Broad Arrow stamped.
There is a single ...black and white photograph of who I am assuming is Capt. L.M. Kelly, with a handwritten note. Also comes with multiple pages of documents, which appear to be initial orders and promotional papers, along with a pay scale document for oversea service.
The medals include the M.B.E. (military division) medal, along with the 1939 - 1945 Star, the Burma Star, the India Service Medal and the 1939 - 1945 War Medal. For disclosure - when I originally acquired the grouping, the M.B.E. medal was lacking the ribbon and has been since replaced. The medal and case are original. The original ribbon bars show the military division M.B.E. ribbon.
All the items came wrapped in waxed paper and a cloth bandage and neatly packed in a metal tin for British Crispbread. This grouping was originally purchased in Great Britain back in 2001 and has been in a covered airtight display case since that time.
