You can distinguish this editi...on as an original because of the "KK" route in a blue circle on the cover. A later"1972(2), " or second edition of the same map, was issued with a single "K" train route in a blue circle because the route had been changed.
You can see how crisp it is in photo 1 & 2. This map was designed by Massimo Vignelli in 1970s minimalist style. This map is so highly desired because there is one on display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.It was most recently copied by the National Football League in their promotional map during Super Bowl XLVIII.The cover is white with various letter & number routes in color circles. • 21 inches by 17.5 inches when open. • Closes to 7 inches by 3.75 inches. • One side has a route map of the subway system & the other side has route by route station guide. This is MINT, not near mint (Map has NEVER been opened)! Why bother with a reproduction for $300 when you can buy the original map. A great piece of NY Subway history you can own!The photos of the inside of the map are stock photos. We used another map from our collection that isn't as nice for these photos. The map you are bidding on is 100% mint!There are a few small flaws. Please study the pictures carefully.
