Offered for your consideration is an exceptionally well-preserved vintage Cerwin-Vega model AT M5 4½ inch closed-back midrange driver removed from my AT-10 speakers, manufactured in 1988. This midrange was also used in the AT-12, AT-15, and VS-100 (for the VS-100 you will have to re-use your truncated faceplate). It may be suitable for other Cerwin speakers from this era, but buyer is responsible for confirming so. So, please take a look at the large photos I’ve taken and read ...the remaining description to decide if this very capable midrange is correct for your needs. *Although the listing is written in singular to avoid any confusion, two (2) Cerwin-Vega AT M5 midranges are available for purchase at the time of this writing. Please choose if you’d like to buy one or both in the quantity field at the top of the listing. The shipping cost will be automatically calculated by eBay checkout. This Cerwin-Vega midrange is in clean, excellent condition. It has a perfect paper cones and voice coil dustcaps, well-protected under the removable, acoustically transparent faceplate screen. Plus, the surround is permanent pleated textile, further strengthened with a poly coating, so there’s no aged foam issues to deal with. Also, the anodized steel basket is also in great shape with no dings or oxidation and the plastic-framed faceplate screen looks great as well. And, the +/- terminals are marked for polarity (red dot = pos.) and have never been soldered on the spades. Overall, this driver looks practically new! Most importantly, it’s been fully tested and sounds terrific—strong, clear mid frequency output extending well into lower treble. Plus, I tested its DC resistance 7.1Ω consistent with a nominal 8 ohm driver rating. Lastly, the faceplate measures 5¼” diameter, the basket flange is 4½” across (5’ on the diagonal), it stands about 1¾”, and the mount holes are spaced 3 5/16” adjacent / 4⅝” diagonal, c-t-c. This is a nice find if you have a blown or damaged mid in your suitable Cerwin speakers and will have them sounding right again in no time! As pictured and described, this superb Cerwin-Vega AT M5 midrange driver is being offered at a reasonable price.
