Item for sale is a Carl Zeiss Jena 40x/0.65 microscope objective. It is an achromatic lens that is optimized for a mechanical tube length of 160mm and cover glass thickness of 017mm. It is in good condition optically: clean with no scratches that are visible to the unaided eye. Indeed, when I tested it on an actual microscope, the resultant image was sharp and clear. The last photograph shows a view through the lens. The barrel is finished with black paint, which is in just fair cosmet...ic condition. Nevertheless, the writing is engraved (not just painted) on the barrel, and it is all easily readable. For further information about the cosmetic condition, please examine the photographs carefully.
