This is the Medium size of "Polish" hen on a nest dish. (The small is about 4" and Large is about 8") Polish glass company Zabkowice. It was in business from 1884-about 2003, according to Shirley Smith in her book, Glass Hen on Nest Covered Dishes. This size and style of "Polish" clear glass HON have been documented to be Zabkowice. This hen does have a complete braid at the top rim of th...e base, although it is sort of flat and may appear to be partial, if viewed at some angles. The scallops on the rim of the base are very short.
I don't know when it was made, but since it is in great condition, and the molding details appear somewhat worn, I'm guessing it may be from around the 1970s. The bottom is also a basket weave design with a rectangular bar that has X X X across it.
The hen covered dish (HON) approximate measurments:Base 5-1/8” x 4”; Top 4-3/4” x 3-3/4”. There is no damage to this beautiful hen on nest dish. Her beak is short, and undamaged.
