Canadian National 3 Chime Steam Whistle By McAvity Ltd. Markings.

This is a very attractive cast bronze steam whistle out of my 50+ year personal collection. A three chime, double RR marked flat top, with gorgeous markings on both sides, including CNR (Canadian National Railroad) cast into the bowl on both sides. The whistle was made by McAvity Ltd Canada. Their logo is a hand holding the world, as seen on both sides of the cast bowl, and in the big bronze top nut. A gorgeous whistle, when I had it polished in late 60s. It stands 21 in. tall ove...rall. Chimes are 13 inches off the bowl. (Inside chimes are cast in different lengths to tune the chimes). Diameter is 6 1/2 in. I have never seen another of these even though I was in Canada with their excursion steam engines several times. A great addition to any rail collection. Value: I had this whistle sold to an active collector a year ago. He had to back out due to family emergency.
