A very atmospheric and well painted study of a brewing storm- shipping can be seen on the horizon putting to port to seek shelter. The work is feintly initialled lower right "E.S." Age- c1890-1920Size- 13.5 by 16 inches approx (345 x 405 mm) including frame, panel 6 by 9 inches approxMedium- Oils on canvas laid to panel
Frame- Later gold coloured frame, some knocks, offered free with the painting.Condition- Generally good and clean, ready to hang. Some scuffs and thinner paint areas in places, light residual dirty varnish patches.
Signature- Feintly with initials lower right.
