Beautiful and rare carte view of the "Drummer Boy of the Rappahannock" Robert Henry Hendershott of the 8th and 9th Michigan Infantry. Dubbed the "Drummer Boy of the Rappahannock" after reportedly volunteering to cross the Rappahannock into Fredericksburg during the onset of the battle. He was 13 at the time of the exploit into the Fredericksburg battle. He became a national celebrity and toured both the country and France.
