AN AUSTRIAN 19TH CENTURY POLYCHROME COLD PAINTED LAMP WITH ANTIQUITIES MERCHANT, BY FRANZ BERGMAN (1838-1894). This lamp is working and in very good condition. The lamp is identical to the Franz Bergman lamp appraised on theAntiques Roadshow May 31st 2014 in Bismarck, ND by Sebastian Clarkeof the Rago Arts and Auction Center. The lamp has been in our family since it was purchased in Europe in theearly 1900's.The lamp stands approximately 11.5" tall and, being cast bronze, weighs nearly 10 pounds.The paint is in good condition with some minor wear due to age
Theoriginal cord disintegrated and the lamp was rewired with a more modern cord/switch about 20 years ago. During this process, one of the screw headsholding the switch plate on the rear of piece was sheared off and has not been replaced. The plug is missing the ground prong.The lamp is a little dirty. It has not been cleaned in any way.
