Offered in this sale is a vintage English Paragon China loving cup that was made in commemoration of the opening of the Empire Exhibition is Scotland. It is marked on the baseBy Appointment A Perpetual Souvenir In Paragon China To Commemorat...e The Empire Exhibition Scotland Held at Bellahouston Park Glasgow Opened By Their Majesties King George VI & Queen ElizabethThe piece is extensively hand decorated and features gold gilt embellishing. Along the outside edge of the upper rim is printed EMPIRE EXHIBITION SCOTLAND. One side is decorated with Royal Flags and Coat of Arms while the other side is printed 1938 OPENED BY THEIR MAJESTIES KING GEORGE VI & QUEEN ELIZABETH. It has two gilt gold Rampart lion handles. It measures roughly 4" tall x 6 1/4" across handle to handle, 3 1/4" in diameter across the flat base. The condition of this piece is excellent. There are no chips, cracks, flakes, hairlines or restoration.
