This auction is for a very rare 1870's antique straight razor with the original coffin box, marked on the tang: B.J. EYRE CO. - LATE W. GREAVES & SONS - SHEFFIELD - and etched on the blade: HOLLOW GROUND - FOR BARBERS USE - This antique razor is at least approx. 140 years old, has a genuine buffalo horn handle, notched & etched 15/16" wide and 1/4" thick 3" blade, raised shoulder, lower jimps, and has no chips or cracks, overall in very good condition showing a few minor dark b...lemishes. The blade is fairly sharp but needs honing to actually shave with. The coffin storage box is also in very good condition. Please zoom in on all pictures for details.
