Up for sale is a beautiful 18th century French engraving entitled "Le Jardinier Galant" depicting two lovers in the center of the print while a third woman looks away in the upper right. This steel engraving was made by Isadore Helman as seen in the lower right corner and is dated 1778. This highly romanticism image was engraved with a superior level of realism with an outstanding attention to detail. This highly aesthetic antique French engraving is decorated with a beautiful border i...n the print itself and a crest low center. The print measures roughly 11 x 15 inches while the antique gesso wood frame measures 18 x 22.5 inches. The condition of the print shows heavy toning which would benefit from a good clean.
