Antique German Glass Beer Stein Jugendstil w/Green Prunts c.1910s Description: Presented is a beautiful German beer stein made of hand-blown crystal glass around the late 1910s. The stein is designed in the so-called "Jugendstil" style - a German version of Art Nouveau that is characterized by simplicity and elegance. The main elements of the design are green glass applications. They are applied to the body of the ste...in to create bright spots in a random abstract form. The whole piece was made by an artist, not just a craftsman working on somebody else's design.
The lid is made of pressed metal with pewter mounts. This is a good sign of the late 1910s, the war years when pewter was relatively expensive. It is engraved with the name Max Herrmann made in beautiful old German script.
Excellent flawless condition. The stein is 6" tall to the top of the thumblift. It is 0.5L capacity. Reference#: Condition: Excellent Year: 1910s Country: Germany Height: 6 in. Materials: Glass/pewter
