A rare cased solid sterling silver commemorative chalice or goblet andpaten or coaster. They are hallmarked for Birmingham 1972 with the maker’s marksbeing JMS for Salloways Ltd. They have been superbly designedboth being engraved with Lichfield Cathedrals crest and engraved either sidewith the dates 672 and 1972. It has been made to commemorates Chad who was bornin 972. They are in perfect condition being free from dings splits distortions andrepairs. The case is also in greatcondit...ion being free from stains scuffs tears and repairs. The goblet measures over 5.25 inches(13.8cms) tall by over 2.5 inches (6.8cms) across the rim, the paten measures 4inches (10.2cms) across and they have a combined weight of 259 gramsexcluding the box (the paten base is filled). A very high quality beautifully designed set.
