Description A beautiful very rare English/Scottish antique 19th Century Mauchline Ware Queen Victoria "The Royal Jubilee" Birthday book, in excellent condition and dating from 1887. Lovel...y quality genuine 132 year old example, (definitely not a modern re-production), made to commemorative Victoria`s Golden Jubilee, it is a book for remembering birthday dates and each day has an associated verse from a famous author/poet. The front and rear Mauchline covers have superb black printed scenes of Queen Victoria and her residences and it has its original undamaged burgundy leather spine with gilt tooling. The book is all complete and includes the title page and picture. Scarce item and hard to find.Measurements Measures approx 3.95 inches (100mm) x 3.65 inches (92mm) and is 1 inch (25mm) deep. Date English/Scottish antique 19th Century Victorian, 100% guaranteed genuine antique, and dating from the Queens Golden Jubilee in 1887. Condition Excellent condition, with no splits or cracks to the wood, no nasty digs or scratches, no damage or fading to the black printed scenes and it still has its original lacquered finish. The burgundy leather spine is also in excellent condition. The interior pages are all complete including title page and picture of Victoria, there are a few hand written names inside, but no actual presentation inscription inside the cover. There is some age-related spotting/marking to the pages, (see photos). Has come direct from a private estate and is 100% fresh to the market. A rare find.
