This is for a lovely Victorian mauchline ware sewing case in the form of a book dating from the mid to late 1800s. It is decorated with the tartan pattern for Clan Ronald and is marked as such on the spine. The spine of the book pulls out and the inside is lined in leather with green silk compartments for needles and pins. The outer box is nicely decorated with detailing around the edge to look like pages of a book and it is in excellent condition with no cracks in the wood just t...he very light surface wear you see. It measures 128mm (5") x 77mm (3") x 20mm (0.75") deep.
