Here we have an Antique Set of 11, S. J. ADDIS LONDON, ETC. Wood Carving Working Chisels. There is evidence that the Addis family was in the edge-tool business asfar back as 1717 or 1720 with continuation well into the 20th Century. Theleading carving experts, when asked about second-hand or classic carving tools, almost always list "Addis", "Herring Bros." and "Ward& Payne" as the best. This set has Eight S. J. Addis chisels, Two J. Cam chisels, and one Butcher chi...sel. The old original handles all look to be the same design except for one. And only one has some age related cracks. All the handles have metal ferrules. I'm not a profile expert but here is my short description: you get 4 different sizes of 'fish tails', 3 different sizes of 'V' gouges, 3 different sizes of round gouges, and 1 narrow curved straight tip. The handle are all firmly attached. I did not see any owner's marks. Please review pics closely to verify what you are bidding on. Please contact me with any questions. member to leave Feedback. I will gladly reciprocate. :-)Reg. Box A
