ORIGINAL, FRAMEABLE Part-printed bond issued by the County of Barbour, West Virginia as payment of the enlistment bounty of a volunteer soldier. Bond dated Sept. 1864 and reads: "The county of Barbour binds itself to pay to John Miller (Mueller), now being in the United States service…on the call by the President for 500, 000 men, one hundred dollars" etc. John Miller (Mueller), endorses the note on the reverse .
