70 ' S Vintage Wakmann Chronograph (Breitling), Reverse Panda Dial. Valjoux 7734
Item History & Price
Wakmann was the US distributor for Brietling from the 40's through the 70's. This model is the Wakmann-labeled version of a Breitling Datora 792.
It features an 17-jewel Valjoux 7734 chronograph movement and is manual wind.
Case size is approximately 38mm by 43mm with 19mm lugs. Case is gold-plate and, although worn uniformly on the top and sides, is still very attractive. Dial is in excellent shape an...d hands are good. Crystal has a few minor scratches. The chrono pushers are worn on the sides, while the crown is in good shape. Strap is padded black leather, and is not new.
The movement winds and runs strong, and keeps good time. However, the chronograph functions are not running at this point. It ran completely a few years ago but I have not worn it recently. I believe the movement is good but just needs a cleaning.
This is a 50-year old watch and is sold as is.
US buyers only please.
