RARE Early Issue Nichols WW2 Fighting Knife With Original Scabbard. This knife is in overall good condition with a few flaws that can be seen in the images. The original scabbard is in fair to good condition with some wear and tear that can be seen in the images. A partial name is visible on the scabbard as well as the on the cross guard and the names appear to match. It appears that someone may have attempted to grind/file off the name on the items to possibly protect the privacy of t...he soldier. The knife has nice aging and is in overall good condition. The blade is full and straight, the knife handle has an Buffalo nickel on it, indicating that this is an early issue Floyd Nichols fighting knife. The scabbard was made by Alfred Cornish in Omaha, Nebraska. The retaining strap on the scabbard is intact but has come lose from the rivet.
