Original Description:
Beautiful small round lacquer box entirely covered in gold lacquer, dating to late Edo period. Large central mon of the Tokugawa clan triple hollyhock leaves on lid. Interior is nashiji "pear-skin" lacquer with stylized floral design on underside of lid. Either a tea caddy or maybe a tobacco box. Whatever was kept inside must have been soft because the lacquer is in perfect condition.
Minor wear throughout commensurate with age, but no damage. Measure 4" diameter x 1.5" height. ...
