*** Antique Chinese Embroid Gold Floral w Bats Silk Damask Skirt Panel-Special *** This auction features a unique 19th century heavily embroidered gold silk damask skirt panel measuring 33" deep and approx 49" wide. The gold silk damask presents flying bats and flowers in its design. The major embroidery is of two large outlined bats embroidered in tiny forbidden stitches in many hues of blue, coral, green and cream. The bats are complemented by large satin stitch flo...wers in similar colors. This design and the surrounding ribbons featuring embroidered Chinese symbols, flowers, and bats provide an exceptional embroiderey for this skirt panel. Please note that a few pieces of the outlining have come loose, there are a few stains on the gold silk, and the back of the skirt panel's silk has some holes and wear.
